I’m a huge breakfast person. I always wake up starving and usually try to eat something within 30 minutes of rising to get my metabolism going early. But I’ve never been one to have a “go to” breakfast. Somedays I feel like eggs and toast or a big bowl of oatmeal and other days, I’m hungry, but I don’t necessary feel like eating something. That’s why I love smoothies. They completely hit the spot for mornings when I need fuel but am not ready to sit down for a meal yet.
My “power green smoothie” is loaded with nutrient-packed fruits and veggies as well as healthy fats and protein to give you the energy you need to start your day off right. The great thing about smoothies are that you can take them with you if you are pinched for time in the mornings. Pro tip: If you are the early riser in the house, make it the night before and store in a mason jar so you can grab and go and not worry about the blender waking others up in the morning (or grab an extra 10 minutes of sleep!)
